ABOUT ME
Shannon Thiessen Burton, M.Ed.
International Teacher-Librarian
We all need safe places to belong, to be included, to be part of something. I am passionate about growing community and drawing people in.
I grew up in a small farming community in Saskatchewan, Canada, and no matter where I go - from Bangladesh to Cambodia to the UK - I love to foster that small-town connected feeling. In my schools, libraries and classrooms, I work hard to make my students feel safe, included and supported as we are stretched and challenged together.
Libraries can be hothouses for both learning and connectedness. I am excited to collaboratively partner with classroom teachers, facilitating tech integration, multiple literacies, and critical and creative thinking across and beyond the curriculum.
